What to expect:
Our multi-sensory integrative course uses visual aid, group-work and classroom activities which includes, questions, and requires learner participation, class discussion or individual reflection. The delivery will be inspiring and inclusive for the learner. Lessons are designed to give learners the core knowledge, skills and competencies required to use counselling skills ethically and safely in their work environment.
One day skills practice session
The one-day session of skills practice is classroom based and you will get the opportunity to practise and use the core skills in a group setting.

Five days spread over eight weeks
Five days face to face learning
Sessions are structured to give the learner five days in the classroom spread over five weeks with tutor support.
Program delivery: –
Week one and two – Classroom based
Two weeks skills practice in a group setting practising and using the Core Skills.
- Unit 1: Core skills (K/502/6966)
- Unit 1a: Using counselling skills (K/502/6966)
Week 3 to 5 – Classroom based
Three weeks will be completing units 2 – 4 in a classroom setting.
- Unit 2: Introduction to counselling skills theories (K/502/6630)
- Unit 3: Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills (M/502/6631)
- Unit 4: Counselling skills and personal development (T/502/6632)
Week 6 to 8 – Home based
The final three weeks will give the learner the opportunity to finalise unit assignments for submission at their own pace away from the classroom with tutor support either by email, chat, or telephone.
